Cliff Whitfield is a native of Graham, North Carolina. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Guilford College and his master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). He is currently the Digital Scholarship Librarian and Assistant Professor at North Carolina A&T University (NC A&T) in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is also a PhD student in History at UNCG.
Whitfield is a trained public historian specializing in creating and managing digital scholarship projects. His research interests are United States history, particularly African American History, Southern US history, and Reconstruction. His most recent work at the Levine Museum of the New South has explored the history of Charlotte, North Carolina, and its growth into a global, New South city.
